Abstract

The documented shift of the Southern Hemisphere Westerly Winds will have readily observable effects on the southward flowing western boundary currents of the sub-polar oceanic gyres in the Southern Hemisphere. We explore the changes in mass, heat and salt transport by the East Australian Current, the Brazil Current and the Agulhas Current in response to the SresA1B warming scenario as simulated by the GFDL coupled climate models.
